Transcription:Timon vs. Peter Osgood Junior And the said Peter comes and defends etc. when and where etc. and says that the Plt his action aforesaid against the said Peter might not to have & Maintain because he says that said Timon is the proper Negro slave of the said Peter & that one Thomas Chadwick at Andover aforesaid on the fourth day of June AD 1776 was possessed of said Timon as of his own proper Negro Slave & being so thereof possessed the said Thomas then and there for the Consideration of Sixty pounds bargained sold & delivered to the said Peter. The said Timon (but the name of a negro Man servant of about thirty two years of age named Timon) To hold to him said Peter forever as his property whereby the said Peter became possessed of said Timon as of his own proper negro slave & by virtue of the sale & delivery aforesaid hath ever since held & still holds the said Timon as his own proper negro Slave all which the said Peter is ready to verify wherefore he pray judgment of the said Timon his action aforesaid against him said Peter ought to have & maintain.
